4:06 PM

An early day it was for me. I found it real hard to wake up. Okay, I never shared this with you, but I always snooze my alarm on my phone around 5-6 times for one whole hour before I actually get out of bed. Haha, its a bad habit, I know. I need to buy on of those clocks that when you try to snooze it, rolls into the corner of the room, thus making you get out of bed to switch off the horrid sound. Hmm, maybe I should change my alarm sound to something really really annoying. Maybe that would really wake me up. HAHA

And the highlight of my day was "Food and Mouse Disease" in System Analysis class. Haha. Freddy and Jo were doing a presentation regarding the food chain. And I don't know why, the spelling error on the powerpoint slide and his pronunciation was so funny. Haha, they didn't even realise it was a mistake until it was the end of the class. But then, the class was already cracking up man =P

July and I were a team for this presentation. And our section was to focus on Farmers. And this was the picture we used for our definition......

Muahaha! ;)

6:57 PM

As planned, today July and I wore matching hoodies =D And the first thing Elvis said to us was 'Hey, why are you girls wearing the same thing?' Then, the next thing he said was 'Rachel, you look good today, what's the occasion?' Its the line he always says when I wear something out of the ordinary. Haha. Don't ask me why.

And also as planned, July and I tried to make mash potatoes! Andd... its was a half success. It tasted good. Only thing was I think we didn't cook one potato long enough, so it was really hard to mash it with a fork. So we ended up trying to cut it into smaller pieces before mashing it. Haha. And still, it was like small hard squares of potato! haha. But we ate it anyway. =P And together with Lemon Herb Peri-peri Chicken, was our lunch for the day.
Then before going to our afternoon class, July and I decided to check out this house that our classmate said is being built behind his. I wanna stay with July next year out you see. =D And like when we finally found the place we were looking for. We asked the forman what was being built. And he said that its a 50 room apartment building. Wow, now thats not a house! Don't ask me how my friend could mistake an apartment that big for a house.

We made it in time to our afternoon class only to find out that it was cancelled! Argh! Our teacher EMAILED us like only an hour before the class. He expects us to check our emails every 5 mins is it? Oh well. In the end, July and I went to Chadstone Shopping Mall because I wanted to buy some stationery. Then I had a bright idea to watch Ice Age 3. So we went online to check out the times before we left for the Mall. The only one showing today was in 3D. We didn't make up our mind whether to watch it or not until we were on the bus. Then once we reached there, we went to the ticket counter and bought our tickets. The lady handed us 3D glasses and I kept mine! =D

We walked around for a bit then decided to go to the arcade area. We played Time Crisis 4! My first time. Played 1, 2 and 3 before. But not 4! It was so fun, until we died of course. haha. July tried to shoot some hoops and only scored 3 but she did put in good effort. And then... we headed for the.... CRANE MACHINE! Yes, we tried our luck again. Almost got the nut-seeking squirrel dude but didn't succeed. But this machine is very nice, if you lose, you get to use another crane to pick up candy and you are allowed to try and try again until you succeed to grab some candy. Haha, so at the end of the day both July and I got a handful of candy. =D Better than nothing right?

Pearl Milk Tea is what we bought before heading in for the movie. Its my second time watching a movie in 3D, but my first time in Melbourne. The movie was soooo funny. And it was really cool with the 3D effects.

My favourite line was:
"I think the wind is speaking to us"
"Really? What is it saying?"
"I don't know, I don't speak wind."

It might not seem funny when you read it, but the way the character said it, I found it really funny! Hehe.

SALUTE

3:45 PM
I haven't been to the church I intend here in Melbourne in ages. And today was like my first time in almost a month! Wow! So many things have changed. Even the name and logo of Hope Melbourne has changed.

You know like when you think you know every face in church already, there seems to be more popping up. And I'll be like, are you new here? No, I'm in the second year of uni already. And I'll be like. Oh. Okay. And we'll engage in a deep conversation and even when it ends, I would still not know their name. HAHA. I know right, its silly.

Anyways, I'm gonna try wear something that I'll never wear to college tomorrow. I hope the guys in my class won't tease. Wait a minute, there's only two girls left in my class! July and I have bought the same hoodie and have 'pakat' to wear it together tomorrow haha. =D Then we're gonna try to make mash potato. haha.

Okay I better get back to stick my head in my Microeconomics textbook. Please don't call me a nerd. I need to learn from my mistakes and make more notes early before its toooo late.

IT Girls Day Out
4:28 PM
July and I decided to surprise Dana with a little early birthday present. We decided to meet at Thai Yim. We surprised her by pulling out our birthday gifts and a huge birthday card signed by all of our classmates. And she was sooooo happy, that she was glowing. =D

Thai Yim is my favourite Thai restaurant to date. They do a wicked awesome Pad Thai and yummy Tom Yum soup. The Som Tam was great too but realllyyy spicyy. One mouthful and you need to drink a whole glass of water. We tried the Penang Thai Chicken Curry and it was not that bad either. The portions were huge for even 3 of us sharing them, so we made July tapau all of it. hehe.

Som Tam (Papaya Salad)

this sign really spoke to me. If you can't read it, it says...
THAI ONCE AND YOU WILL THAI AND THAI AGAIN.
-haha-

After the lunch, we went to buy Bubble Tea at Happy Cup =) I had my normal pearl milk tea without ice. And then we went to buy snacks at an Asian Grocery Store nearby. We wanted to catch the 'Year One' show but it started at 2.10pm and we had to kill time, so we walked around the Glen shopping mall. I bought a few stuffs. ;)

When we bought our tickets, Village Cinemas was having a promotion, so they were giving out membership cards for free =D andddd.... also this Crack the Code competition. And I won a $7.50 ticket! July got a $8.00 ticket andd... Dana got a $9.00 one. Haha, I win! =P Movie tickets are usually $16 here. Yea, expensive entertainment, I know.

Most Jack Black movies are funny because of its stupidity and hilarious-ness. And this was just the same. It was about prehistoric men, travelling around in Biblical times. So there was like Cain and Abel and other similar characters from the old testament. Don't want to spoil it for you.

And the best part of today was... I did that crane machine thingy that they had next to the cinema and got a Bob for July!! hehe. =D So proud of myself. Well, July kindda pointed which one to aim for. =)

King of Pop's reign ends
Friday, June 26, 2009
9:40 PM
Today we received the news that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson has passed away. I was in a bus to Caulfield today with July and we were like, eh, they are playing all of MJ's greatest hits one after the other on the radio. We were like, cool! I sms-ed my mom about it. She said, 'Ya, I already heard he passed away.' Then it hit me like a ton of bricks and it all suddenly made sense, it was a tribute to him on the radio.

Its funny because last night I dreamt that you passed away. I immediately woke up from that nightmare when I realised it was just a dream. I felt so much pain and sadness because if it were true, then I would not know how to go on with life because of what you last said to me. I'm looking for something long-term. The question is are you?

Nudie's rock!

Yea, so anyway, I was in Caulfield with July because she wanted to buy a book from a person who has finished the unit. The person's name was Kiki. So duh, we were looking out for a girl whilst we settled with our Popcorn Chicken in KFC. And thennn, I spotted a guy outside who looked like he had a rendezvous. So I poked July and said err... I think our Kiki is actually a guy. Haha! It was so funnyy.

There is a Tandoor.com in Melbourne too! =)

I had the shortest tutorial ever today for Micro. All we did was like introduce ourselves. Andd... one cool thing was the tutor handed us a plastic-wrapped stack of papers which is our unit outline, assignment criteria and tutorial questions for the semester. I'm impressed because I've never seen something like that before. Now there's one less unit to not waster ink and paper on. Since tutorial was so short, my friend and I decided to watch 'What Happened in Vegas' on his laptop. Okay, at first we wanted to watch 'Dark Knight', but he realised he didn't have the DVD in his laptop. Instead 'Batman Begins' was in its place, so we begun to watch that. BUT, he realised I wasn't "paying attention" and said 'What movies do you like?'. And my reply was 'Comedies...'. Then he said 'This movie is too serious, let's watch What Happened in Vegas instead, have you watched that?'. Man, he was so sweet to realise that I found 'Batman Begins' "not that great" and figure out my movie interests. That really made my day. =)

There was a function going on where we sat. And I like the idea of using water ballons to hold down helium ones. haha.

I went to life group today after that. It was my turn to share a testimony today. And I decided to share about my exam results. Oh yea, I haven't shared them with you either. hehe. I got a Credit for Management (Whatt..? I know right. The ONE non-IT subject gets the highest amongst my results), and Passes for the rest of the IT subjects. I'm just happy that I didn't fail anything. For one thing, I would have to re-take, as in take the classes and exam paper for that unit again and stay back for the third trimester over the December holidays to do the one unit that I didn't manage to take because only 4 units can be taken at a time in Monash College. Thank you God, you are amazing.

First time I helped to bake frozen chips.

Oh and guess what? The timetabling people changed my whole timetable AGAIN! Argh! But I'm happy on one hand because I can fit my Body Combat class into Thursday afternoons. =D YAY!

A turnaround?
Thursday, June 25, 2009
4:30 PM
Ooh guess what? Guess what? I requested to change my Micro tutorial to Friday afternoons. And at first I got a reply saying that the class is full and my request can't be processed. I was so upset and decided to be happy with just being able to be in enrolled in that unit. Then, to my surprise later this afternoon, the timetabling officer emailed me saying that changes had been made to my timetable and I immediately went to take a look and yay! They managed to fit me in the Friday tutorial that I wanted! =D Yipee! Now I can do my Body Combat class on Monday lunchtimes and go to LG straight after my Friday tutorials =)

Doing databases using ORACLE and SQL is starting to remind me of Java. But I think it beats having to do Programming 2 =P

Thank you God for hearing me out and having favour on me. Things have really turnaround for me.

CLEVELAND spelt backwords is DNA LEVEL C.

I'm sorry, I just picked up all these factoids from this book I'm currently reading. Haha.

And... I can't figure what picture is trying to say or show...
Can you...?

Wacky Weeks
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
7:20 PM
Okayy.... firstly, I DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT like my new College timetable. On wednesdays I have 3 lectures!! Each being 2 hours each and all in a row. I only half an our break in between one of the lectures. And now I don't have Fridays free anymore. Darn! Now I have no chance to do my Body Combat because my new timetable totally leaves me no time to do so andd... with it being winter, I can't do the late 5.30pm Body Combat classes because it would be too dark to walk home from the bus stop. ='( So does this mean that I have to become my own Body Combat teacher? Or will the timetabling officer be kind enough to swap my Microeconomics tutorial to Friday afternoon. Then that way I can do Body Combat on Mondays, lunchtime though! =S
Okay you must be thinking, what is Body Combat? Its like doing martial arts to music. It burns the most calories and to me, its REAL FUN!! I enjoy it so much haha. So yea, they mix Mui Thai, Karate, Boxing and some others together. So you think I know nothing? =P
Thursdays are no longer Osama Days. I'll miss those days! I saw him today, teaching a group of students. hahaha.

I miss Brunei! Not so much of the hot, humid weather, but more of my friends and family. I so badly want to play Singstar and Pictionary again!

Most toilets flush in the key of E flat?

The next one will have more sleepovers (with more girls), more sing star, more pictionary, more guitar heroes =D And more Twister! haha.

Thanks everyone for making my short holiday a memorable and fun-filled one. =D
